Our Story.

Olympia Paints opened its doors in 1985 and was at the time primarily a paint contracting business that serviced government projects. The manufacturing component of the business was acquired in 1998 by the CEO, Palash Moodley. The highly qualified paint chemist and visionary was motivated to take this greatly respected local paint business to outstanding levels of international excellence.

Palash focused on producing innovative coatings for the commercial & industrial sectors, the housing market (both high end and low cost) as well as the marine environment. Olympia birthed a new era of growth in reputation and production within the paint industry.

Palash drove his team of experts and the sales force to reach greater heights in professionalism. His legacy is mirrored in the persisting quality of our products and service delivery.

We achieved our mission by investing in research & development, striving for innovative quality, worthwhile solutions and finding good partnerships with global and local technology companies. In 2022, Olympia joined the Promac Paints family; a Pretoria based business aligned with our approach, attitude, production capabilities, value sets and purpose.

All our products are lead‑free with low VOC (volatile organic compound) levels. We manufacture all of our paints and coatings with raw materials sustainably sourced by global suppliers who subscribe to strict ethical and environmentally responsible processes and practices.
